BGY23 – Abifahrt nach Prag

Monday

Our final trip to Prague was due up. We were all curious about what to expect in Prague and what we would experience together. We met, full of joy and curiosity, at nine at the school in Hoyerswerda. Gradually, everyone came together with their suitcases and looked for a place in the dry because of the rain. At ten the bus came and we left. On the road we spent our time with conversations, games and sleeping. Despite traffic jams on the highway and the long drive, we were only in a good mood. When we finally reached Prague, it was still too long with traffic jams until we could check in. So we decided with the teachers to take a ride through the city with our nice bus driver and already discover some sights. Since we drove in the city after work, there was a lot of traffic here again and we needed even more time. When we arrived at the hotel, we were finally allowed to move into our rooms. After a little disillusionment when we saw the rooms, because they looked bigger on the pictures of the website, we were happy to have finally arrived. After a short break and arriving, we went out to the city for dinner in small groups. After this long day, everyone went back to their rooms after dinner and the evening ended with the last conversations.

Tuesday

Tuesday was our first complete day in Prague. Despite the cold and rainy weather we made the best out of the day. After our breakfast we went shopping in the city. After that we went on our own sightseeing tour through Prague. We stopped at Wenzel´s place where we tried Trdelník, aka „Baumstrietzel“. It‘s a traditional Czech treat. After that we went to a photobooth and took some funny pictures of our group. At 3 pm we meet with our class at Powder Tower. From there we started our two and a half hour sightseeing tour through Prague with our guides. Our tour was very interesting and ended at Charles Bridge, where we took a classpicture. After that we were very hungry and tired. So we went home and ordered Indian food in the tram. Back in the hotel we ate together and after that some of our group got ready to go partying. While the other half stayed in the hotel and played cards with Ms. Bayer, Ms. Jesche, Ms. Kracht and other classmates. The card game was very intensiv and funny because Ms. Kracht and Amir took UNO a bit too seriously. Let‘s just say Ms. Kracht had a lot of cards on her hand in the end. While we played cards the others went to one of the biggest clubs in Europe. In the club was a „Robotic Bar“ and it was very interesting to see how the roboters prepared and mixed drinks. The music and the drinks were very good. We had a lot of fun and turned the night into the day. Even if the class was not always together, everyone still had a great time.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, our class went on an excursion during their graduation trip to Prague.
Early in the morning we took the bus to the city center and visited Pražský hrad (Prague Castle). After that, we watched the traditional Changing of the Guard, which happens every hour. Later, we split into small groups, explored the city and enjoyed some free time. Many of us went to the big pink shopping mall called Palladium.
In the evening, we met again at Hard Rock Café. The place was really cool, with lots of historic guitars and other music stuff on the walls. Back at the hotel, some of us got ready for Prague’s nightlife,
while others stayed at the hotel mall and enjoyed a fun game night, a great ending of the day!

Thursday

On Thursday, our day in Prague began with breakfast at 8:30pm in the hotel. After enjoying a relaxed morning, we met our teachers at 11:30am in the hotel lobby. From there, we set off together for our first activity of the day. At around 12:30pm, a part of the group visited the Cat Café together with Mrs. Kracht and Mrs. Bayer. There, we could enjoy drinks and food in a cozy atmosphere surrounded by cats, which made the visit very special. At the same time, other students decided to have lunch elsewhere or went to the Waffle Café with Mrs. Jesche, where they could try sweet specialties. Once everyone had finished lunch, the afternoon was free to spend individually. Some students used the time to go shopping, others explored different parts of the city and a few simply relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of Prague. In the evening, at 6:30pm, we met again as a whole group for one of the highlights of the trip – a boat tour on the river named Moldau. The two-hour cruise allowed us to see the city from a completely new perspective, as we passed by Prague’s illuminated sights along the water. Dinner was served on board, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Sharing a meal while watching the lights of the city reflected in the river created a wonderful and memorable atmosphere. It was a perfect ending to our class trip in Prague, combining relaxation, fun activities, and time together as a group.

Friday

On Friday, breakfast was at 8 a.m. at the hotel. Afterwards, the plan was that the teachers and hotel staff inspect and evaluate our rooms. However, no one showed up. After waiting for quite some time, we decided to go down to the lobby and check out. That worked out well, and we were able to board our bus on time at 10 a.m. We were all extremely tired from the week. Once everyone was seated, it didn’t take long for the first heads to nod off. Compared to the journey there, it was a very quiet and relaxed ride. Shortly before 2 p.m., we finally arrived in Hoyerswerda and everyone drove home.
